Washington DC Day 1!!

We spent the holiday weekend in Washington DC. We road-tripped up there with our friends Ben, Sarah, Shane, and Mollie. Shane was the only one of us who had been there before, so it was great to experience it all for the first time!

Coming up the escalator after our first metro ride! This was followed by a 40 minute walk to our hotel with all our luggage.....and it should have only been a 10 minute walk!Our first full day in DC!!

We toured the Holocaust Museum. They didn't allow pictures inside. It was a really amazing/shocking/sad museum.

The capital building. We got to tour it, and it was amazing!! It was so neat to be standing in the same building and on the same floor that so many important people have!

We finished the evening with dinner in China town.

Game Night!

Everyone in our group of friends loves playing games, so we do it fairly often! This week Erin and Thomas hosted game night and we played Bolderdash. Chris and I had never played, but it was fun, and we've added that game to our list to get!

Summer Fun

It's been pretty hot here lately, and since we're always looking for more ways to tire out Marathon, we got out the hose! She loves to chase the water and splash around in it!

Emma didn't understand what all the excitement was about and thought it better to hide between Chris' feet!!

Hollywood Here I Come!!

Okay, well I may not be heading to Hollywood just yet! However, I am the new yellow page girl for the Mountaineer Yellow Pages!! A friend from church owns his own production company, and hired me for two yellow page commercials! We shot the commercials on Monday. It was fun!
We filmed on a green screen and he'll put in the graphics and things later. Here's some pics from the shoot!

Chris managed to get the day off on Saturday so we grabbed Sarah and Ben and we all headed into Pittsburgh to spend the day at the water park!

That would be Sarah rocketing down the yellow slide.....the rest of us opted for the orange ones!

After the water park we decided to go see The Perfect Getaway at the theater nearby. This theater was amazing!! It had a great resturant inside, which we greatly enjoyed prior to our movie!

LifePointe Church Picnic

It was an extremely hot day, but super fun. Pastor Aaron was the all time Quarterback. We all decided to take a water break or aka the end of the game.

Arden, West Virginia

A few people that Chris work with have been talking about Arden, WV. They told us how beautiful it is and how it has this great, shallow river that you can spend all day swimming and fishing in. It has shallow parts that people put lawn chairs in and just relax, then deeper parts that you can jump off rocks into. It sounded great so a group of us headed up there to spend our Sunday.

The only problem was that we hadn't taken into account the fact that it had rained all week. Once we got there, we sadly, discovered that it had become a raging river of death! So, we climbed around, took some pics, and headed out to lunch and home!

We're looking forward to going back another day when we can actually enjoy it!
