Unfortunate

Since moving to Texas I've seen a lot of unfortunate tattoos. Most of which involve the Texas flag in some form. Apparently Texans have a huge amount of state pride. However today a women came into the gym with a tattoo on the back of her neck....in pretty large letters it read 'Made in Texas'......uuuummmm really?! Is that a good idea to permanently tattoo that on your body?!

Possum Kingdom

We took a road trip up to Possum Kingdom this weekend with some of Chris' co-workers. We went to a great restuarant and had some catfish. Then we drove up to the national park and rented a boat. It was a great day and the weather was perfect! We had a blast!

3 Years!!

Today is our 3-year anniversery. I can't believe it's already been 3 years since we got married.

I started dating Chris in November of 2000, I was 15 years old. By June of 2001 I knew I would marry him. We made it through high school and college together, and now we're making in through 'real life' together. We've really grown up together. I've been surprised at how much more I fall in love with him every day. I can't wait to see where our life takes us, but no matter what, I know it will be amazing as long as I have Chris by my side!

North Texas

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share with everyone a little about the Project we are working on here in Texas. At the initial beginning of the project everything was confidential and no one was to discuss the nature of the project. Now that we have hosted many open houses throughout North Texas and the Panhandle we are now considered an open Project and everything is made known to the public.
Mesa Power represents an innovative approach by a T. Boone Pickens-led coalition of Texas Panhandle landowners who have lived and worked the region’s rolling hills for generations. A booming Texas population is demanding that the state find some far-reaching power and water supply solutions. The state needs diversity in its power options.
Texas Panhandle wind is high quality, with wind speeds averaging over 16.8 miles per hour at 164 feet height. Other Texas Panhandle advantages include proximity to load, and relatively flat topology for access and constructability.
In August of 2007, Mesa Power filed documents to add 4,000 megawatts of wind-generated electricity to the power grid in Texas, enough for over 1 million homes. The filing, with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), details plans for the world’s largest wind farm, with construction starting in 2009 and power deliveries to begin in 2011.
The project will have as many as 2,700 turbines on up to 200,000 acres in Roberts and four other counties in the Texas Panhandle. ERCOT, which operates as part of the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC), manages the state’s power grid. Mesa Power plans to construct a power line and deliver the electricity to Oklaunion (Wichita Falls, TX) substation and possibly beyond.

Powerful Story

I heard a real powerful story on the Christian radio station this morning on my way to work. It was too good not to share. A soldier and his battalion were separated from the rest of their troops as they were traveling to their next rondevous point. All the sudden the clouds began to overtake the clear sunny skies as a storm was starting to brew. The soldiers knew they didn't have much time before the storm erupts. The soldiers had their eyes set on their destination and were determined to keep moving on down the beach despite of darkness. All of the sudden, the storm bursts and rain poured and poured, paralyzing the soldiers from moving forward. A Christian soldier knelt down and began to pray for God to stop the storm. He prayed and prayed, but the storm never let up. The soldiers had no choice but to take shelter under their tents on the beach. The disappointed Christian soldier felt hopeless, confused, and angry at why God did not answer his prayer. When the morning came, the soldiers got up and began to assess the damage of the storm. The soldiers were all in disbelief at their findings, the storm had washed out a layer of sand on the beach revealing all the land mines that laid ahead of them. We are often quick to judge for when God does not grant our prayers. Never loose our faith when God does not grant our prayers, for He has something much greater planned for us all.

Oops!!

I was all read to update my blog today to let you all know/see all the fun I had in Missouri. I sat down to download my pictures from the camera, then I realized I left all the camera cords in Missouri...oops. So you'll have to wait until I can load the pics from the memory card onto Chris' computer and update from there.

When I was packing up I at home I laid the garage door opener on the windshield of the car. The car was locked but I wanted to make sure I got it put in. Then about 10 minutes outside of town something flies off my windshield while I'm going 70 miles per hour....oops. Guess I should have put it on the drivers side, because our garage door opener is now smashed into a million pieces on the highway.

I went to get ready this morning and realized I left my hair straightener and blow dryer in Mo...oops. Guess I get to have curly hair until I can make it to Wal-Mart and buy a new one.

Allison text me today. Elijah left his Incredibles dvd in my dvd player and they don't have a key....oops. This is his fave movie so luckily Dalton is coming to the rescue on that one and will soon deliver it to him.

I really thought I did really good packing....everything fit so well and I had more room than when I came. This was the first time I've packed and came back to Texas by myself. Every other time Chris has been with me. Obviously I need him when it comes to packing up so he can follow me and pick up all the stuff I forget or leave on the windshield.

Sleep-over with Elijah!

Allison got called into work for the night, so Elijah got to spend the night with me! We played kickball and football then finised the night off watching the Incredibles (his fave movie). All in all, it was a fun night!
We went to my cousin's wedding shower and Elijah found a microphone to preach from.

I sat Elijah down with his plate of strawberries for breakfast while I hopped in the shower. When I got out he met me at the bathroom door like this:

Wichita Mountains

Well, I made the long drive back to Missouri today. It took me 8 hours...a whole hour longer than last time. There was a TON of road work!! It was pretty frustrating, but at least I made it! I'm looking forward to 10 days full of family and Arbonne parties!
So, a little ways into Oklahoma are the Wichita Mountains. Uuuuummmm.....does that look like mountains to you? Erin, try not to be too jealous!
