New Shoes

Alli and I went shopping yesterday. Elijah found some Cars croks that he's been wanting for ages. Allison told him they were too ugly to buy....good thing he has such an awesome Aunt!! I couldn't help it...he wanted them so bad! Once we bought them he had to wear them out of Target and he stared at his feet the whole time we walked to the car....and 2 random people stopped to tell him they liked his shoes....He was in Heaven!

He also picked out the spider man ball he's sleeping on....it was a good day!

Five Years!

It has officially been 5 years since I graduated high school! It's hard to believe! Today a few of us got together for a 5 year reunion. It was great to see them again. In some ways 5 years seems like a long time, but it went by so quick! Here's some pics from 5 years ago and today:

This is my entire graduating class on our senior trip at Daytona Beach. Yep, there was 20 people in my graduating class....I went to a small private, christian school, and I wouldn't change it for anything!

And here are the people that were able to make it to lunch today....minus one- who had to cut out a little early!

This pic was me and two of my best friends Jaime and Laura, from high school on our senior trip

And this is Jaime and me today....Laura didn't make it today.

Sleep-Over!

My baby sister Lexi came over today to sleep over. We took a walk, played outside, then did our nails and I let her play in my make-up!! She's passed out on the couch now....it was a fun day!

I run these trails all the time, but I'd never spotted a deer before!

Sometimes Emma decides it's too hot to walk...so I have to carry her on our 'walks!'

Tres....

I was tagged by Erin...so here goes!

3 Joys - Chris, Elijah, Emma
3 Fears- losing one of my joys, putting off having kids until it's too late, being in a car wreck on the highway
3 Goals- saving enough money to buy a 'family' home when we move back to Mo., being able to do missions work in Taiwan, and winning a 5k in my age group
3 current obsessions/collections- scrapbooking, camp rainbow, blogs
3 random/surprising facts about myself- I'm terrified of water bugs and spiders, I would love to live somewhere overseas for a while, I have a house in st. joseph fully furnished with all our stuff even though we live in an apartment in Texas.

And I don't have three people to tag but I tag Jennifer!

Swimming Fun!!

I've spent the last few days pool side! I'm loving summer time! Last night Allison and Elijah came by with a slip and slide and we grilled out and played. Sorry to disapoint but I didn't have my camera with me for the slip and slide but here are a few pics from the pool today.

I'm Back!!

As most of you know, I was at Camp Rainbow all last week. Surprisingly we had a ton of help...which hasn't happened in years, the weather was pretty mild and only rained once, and we didn't have to send any counselors home! It was a great week over all!! I can't believe it's already over, but I can't wait for next year! Blogger won't let me add photos right now, so I'll add them later!

Cajun Math Test

I work with a lady from Louisiana and she forwards me a lot of her emails. This one is actually a really good one. If you are a big fan of math, this one is for you. Be prepared to get stomped. Enjoy!

Cajun Math Test:
A Cajun man wants a job, but the foreman won't hire him until he passes a little math test. Here is your first question, the foreman said. 'Without using numbers, represent the number 9.' 'Without numbers?' The Cajun says, 'Dat is easy.' And proceeds to draw three trees.

'What's this?' the boss asks 'Ave you got no br ain? Tree and tree and tree make nine,' says the Cajun. 'Fair enough,' says the boss. 'Here's your second question. Use the same rules, but this time the number is 99.' The Cajun stares into space for a while, then picks up the picture that he has just drawn and makes a smudge on each tree. ; 'Ere you go.'
The boss scratches his head and says, 'How on earth do you get that to represent 99?' 'Each of da trees is dirty now. So, it's dirty tree, and dirty tree, and dirty tree. Dat is 99.' The boss is getting worried that he's going to actually have to hire this Cajun, so he says, 'All right, last question. Same rules again, but represent the number 100.' The Cajun stares into space some more, then he picks up the picture again and makes a little mark at the base of each tree and says, 'Ere you go. One hundred.'

The boss looks at the attempt. 'You must be nuts if you think that represents a hundred!' The Cajun leans forward and points to the marks at the base of each tree and says, 'A little dog come along and poop by each tree. So now you got dirty tree and a turd, dirty tree and a turd, and dirty tree and a turd, which makes one hundred.' 'So, when I start!!

Packing up!

I'm heading back to Missouri in 3 days! I started packing today, since I'm going to be there for 3 weeks I want to make sure I get everything I need. Luckily, I'm driving so I don't have to worry about getting everything I need into 3 suitcases (and if you know me then you know that's nearly impossible even if I'm going away overnight!!).

I've travelled enough lately that Emma gets nervous when she sees me breaking out my suitcases! So I think she decided today that if she jumped on top and refused to move then I couldn't pack and therefore I wouldn't leave her behind. Little does she know that she's going with me! All 500+ miles in the car!! Wish me luck!!
Oh, and yes that suitcase is completely full of shoes....and nothing else! And 90% of those shoes are flip flops....It's probably safe to say I have a problem!

There was a Renaissance Festival in Lawton, ok. this weekend. So we headed up there with some friends to check things out. It wasn't up to par with the KC ren fest, but it was fun anyway.

Watching the Mud play....me and my shadow Isabell!

Unbelievable!!

Hello Everyone!!
Just wanted to share a little about my day. I got up this morning and got ready for work. It started out a pretty good morning. Work was pretty busy but at least I got off at noon. I locked up the office and was chatting outside with a couple of guys I work with about getting my car fixed. I told them I was pretty excited about taking my car in on Monday for the repair. Then I got into my car and started to pull out of my parking spot and all of a sudden a car whips out in front of me in search of a parking spot. She sees a truck pulling out of a parking spot and decides to wait for it to leave. For some reason the truck backed up at a weird angle and the lady in the car decided he needed extra room. She puts her car in reverse and starts backing up. I figured she was just going to back up a little but for some reason she backed up a lot. Then all the sudden everything was in slow motion. I was watching this lady backing up her car right into mine. She scraped her rear bumper and a portion of the side of her car against my front bumper. I can't believe I got hit again! My car has been hit 3 times since I have been here in Texas.

Congrats Andres

Andres, Chris' step-dad, passed his citizenship test on Wednesday!! The test was pretty tough....there were lots of things that none of us knew!! He studied very hard, and we're so proud of him! Andres has lived here for 22 years and he is finally legal to vote! Now all he has to do is decide between Obama or McCain!! Congratulations Andres, we're so happy for you!!

Yay for summer!

So it's been a few days since I blogged. There hasn't been much new going on. We spent the weekend poolside. It doesn't get below 95 during the day here so spending the day at the pool is of course the most logical activity! Yesterday we went to our apartment pool, then today we went over to a friend's pool. It was great because the pool had a whole cookout area poolside too. So we spent the afternoon cooking out and swimming. For those of you wondering about our sunburns...they're about healed. And I found some sunscreen that is spf 70....hopefully that will help!
